How we Help
At the Chol-Chol Foundation, we believe that in order to truly impact human empowerment, one must take a comprehensive look at the cultural, economic, educational, and societal factors involved, and address each area individually. Using this approach, our initiatives are grouped into three overarching categories: Education/Training, Commercialization/Market Access, and Awareness Building.
- Impart technical skills and business acumen
- Transmit knowledge of culture and heritage through textile development
- Improve artisan working conditions
Examples of projects include: workshops to teach all stages of textile product development (spinning, dyeing, and weaving wool), basic accounting and business classes, creation of home-based work spaces to provide suitable working area for artisans, cultural exchange sessions with other groups of Mapuche artisans, and more.
