FAIR TRADE BUSINESS: We need an assistant that is able to provide practical support in the national and international commercialization efforts as well as help the local sales efforts. (AUGUST 2010)

RESOURCES MOBILIZATION: We need general support in the areas of fundraising, grant writing and general resources generation, such as communications and marketing. (IMMEDIATELY)

*Please be advised that if you wish to volunteer with us, you need: a) Spanish Skills, b) Availability to stay for a minimum of 3 months. The Program has no Fee but it requires that volunteers afford their complete travel and living expenses. Please do not apply if you do not meet any of the above stated requirements*

Work on the field

We started the year going to the field to visit the weaver groups that are members of the Wallontu Witral, the indigenous association with whom the Fundación Chol-Chol works. These visits were meant to explore the weavers's current situation in the organizational and technical level.

Changes for year 2011

The Executive Director changes from January 1st, 2011, as well as the Head of Fair Trade.

The new Executive Director is Susana Ortiz, current Head of the Fair Trade System of our organization.

The new Head of Fair Trade will be Marcela Soto Imio, who holds a Business BA from the Universidad de la Frontera and who has been a volunteer with us during the year 2010.

The current Executive Director, Johanna Perez Vega, will be Head of International Business an will be based in the United States.

Our Weavings in Vitacura, Santiago

En el Parque Bicentenario (Av. Bicentenario 3800), el 4 y 5 de septiembrede 11.00 a 20.00 hrs. La entrada es liberada. Representantes de la Fundación Chol-Chol estarán difundiendo nuestra herencia mapuche, con demostraciones de hilado, teñido y tejido a telar, alfarería de origen mapuche y exclusivas piezas a la venta en el mismo lugar. ¡No se lo pierda!

---- La tercera versión de CHILELINDO es la gran fiesta con que la Municipalidad de Vitacura celebra estas Fiesta Patrias en el Parque Bicentenario. Se trata de dos días de actividades gratuitas, entretenidos panoramas y juegos tradicionales de nuestro país para que disfrute toda la familia.

Juegos infantiles. Rayuela. Colorido trencito. Paseos en burro. Restaurantes con empanadas, anticuchos, cordero al palo y todo tipo de comida chilena. Estas son algunas de las actividades que sin duda llenarán el ambiente de un gran espíritu dieciochero. Además se instalarán más de cuarenta stand en los que las más prestigiosas viñas ofrecerán degustaciones de sus mejores vinos.

CHILELINDO se ha organizado en diferentes zonas dentro del parque, y en una de ellas se realizará una completa exposición de la artesanía de nuestro país. Paseos a caballo y en burro estarán en otro sector especialmente preparado para ello. Una gran rueda, organilleros y todo tipo de juegos infantiles recluirán a los más pequeños.

Otra zona será de juegos propios de la tradición chilena: rayuela, tiro a la rana, emboque y coloridos volantines que sin duda captarán el interés de toda la familia. Infaltable será dar un paseo en familia por el parque en el colorido trencito en el cual se podrá apreciar una gran variedad de árboles autóctonos y la excepcional flora y fauna del lugar.

Además estará especialmente acondicionado un escenario en el que se presentarán bailes folklóricos, esquinazos y payadores en todas sus versiones.

El Parque Bicentenario cuenta con variados árboles nativos, grandes extensiones de césped y una espectacular laguna con cisnes de cuello negro. Además se han instalado entretenidos juegos infantiles, un ajedrez gigante y un circuito de juegos para perros, entre otras atracciones.

Hours: 8am - 6pmRugs, shoulder bags, shawls, ponchos, place mats, cushion covers. Orders will also be taken.
