The Museum Store
Fair Trade Museum Store at the Regional Museum of Araucanía
“The store of the Regional Museum of Araucanía is managed by the Chol-Chol Foundation and partners with the artisan group ‘Rakizuam’. It provides a space to display, promote, and sell high quality crafts, delicacies, and a large variety of other items of local origin under the context of respecting regional identity and human beings.”
In addition, a fundamental part of our collaborative focus with the Regional Museum of Araucanía is to maintain a constant flow of information regarding artisanal heritage to the people of the region. We accomplish this through publications, expositions, lectures, seminars, and learning workshops.
The store aims to reflect the large cultural and product diversity of the region. In order to accomplish this, we work with well-known artisans and farmers, who make up a group of around 30 individuals that join together under the name Rakizuam.
The concept of the space emerged as an ideal location to combine and disseminate information regarding the work, lifestyles, knowledge, and socio-cultural importance of regional crafts, leading to an increased quality of for the artisans and acting as a model for other associations.
